Manufacturing Facility
Yuasa Battery UK Ltd is a large state of the art manufacturing facility in Ebbw Vale, Wales, UK.
Production began at the site in 1982 and since then well over 80 million batteries have been produced ranging in capacity from 0.8 to 540 ampere hours.
Over 60% of products are exported, mainly within Europe, with the largest markets including uninterruptible power supply (UPS), emergency backup power for computer systems, security and fire alarms, telecommunications and other applications.
In such a competitive environment, Yuasa has always remained at the forefront of technology whilst maintaining the highest possible standards and unrivalled reliability.
The facility produces four main product ranges, NPL, EN, ENL and SWL.
Yuasa’s EN and ENL series have rapidly become the industry’s choice for telecommunications, UPS and emergency lighting. These large endurance range lead acid batteries give up to 15 years of standby life, whilst their high gas recombination efficiency and sealed design eliminates the need for separate battery rooms.
In 2003 the SWL series battery, an enhanced version of the NPL battery with 40% extra discharge capacity, was successfully launched. With the same attributes and operational characteristics as the NPL series, the SWL gives users the benefit of a common footprint and is the ideal upgrade for UPS and high rate discharge applications. More recently the new high capacity SWL3800 was also added to the range.
