Krefeld, 8 June 2021 – The racing team of GERT56 is reorganising this year and is switching from the FIM Endurance Superstock World Cup to sprint racing action and the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM). Battery manufacturer GS YUASA will continue its sponsorship of the team in this new season.
GERT56’s motorbike is also new: Puffe rode the brand new BMW M 1000 RR, to which the old BMW S 1000 RR made way, and which was prepared almost around the clock in advance and tuned for interaction with the WP suspensions. The right power for the race was provided by batteries from the YTZ series by GS YUASA, which are also used in the original equipment of production vehicles. Their compact and lightweight design saves extra weight, which means unnecessary ballast in a speed race. In addition, the YTZ batteries provide a confident engine start after the pit stops and are particularly robust – after all, they are exposed to strong vibrations and thermal stresses in this case and must also withstand crashes.
The GS YUASA sponsorship also includes the logo on GERT56’s motorbikes, racing suits and trucks.
All planned IDM races in 2021 with GERT56:
- 21.05. – 23.05. Oschersleben, Deutschland
- 11.06. – 13.06. Most, Tschechien
- 17.07. – 18.07. Nürburgring, Deutschland
- 23.07. – 25.07. Schleizer Dreieck, Deutschland
- 13.08. – 15.08 Assen, Niederlande
- 27.08. – 29.08. Red Bull Ring, Österreich
- 24.09. – 26.09. Hockenheim, Deutschland
