For high depths of discharge: Pro-Spec series batteries from GS YUASA

The Pro-Spec series from GS YUASA is exceptionally powerful, durable and vibration-resistant. For use in electric vehicles, mobility vehicles, forklifts, access platforms and floor cleaning equipment.

The deep cycle batteries the Pro-Spec series from GS YUASA are specifically designed for demanding use with very high depths of discharge. Their applications include electrical vehicles such as golf carts, mobility vehicles, forklifts, access platforms and floor cleaning equipment.

These rechargeable batteries have a long service life and offer a high level of performance and reliability. This is because of the fact that their innovative plate separator design minimises any self-discharging upon storage and maximises the number of cycles they can be run through during operation. Because their housing is constructed from PP resin, the batteries are particularly light, shock resistant and acid resistant. They are designed in such a way that shed active material will not be able to induce any short circuits. The battery terminals are also insensitive to vibrations, which thanks to a special lead alloy and plating also reduce heat development and resistance to a minimum. Gas can escape from the holes in the housing cover, which at the same time allow for an easy opening for filling and maintenance. The Pro-Spec-batteries are low-maintenance. The range consists of eight different types: four 6V batteries with a 20-hour rated capacity of 210, 225, 240 and 260Ah, three 8V batteries with 170, 190 and 240Ah, as well as one 12V battery with 150Ah. One can choose between three connection types, namely an embedded terminal (ET), a dual-fit terminal (DT) or a standard terminal (ST).

A look into the battery technology

The separator of the Pro-Spec batteries consists of porous elastic material and is as such resistant to acid and corrosion. It features the best physical properties as well as a low electrical resistance. To prevent the shedding of any active material, a special microfibre fleece is used. The negative plates consist of 99.9% pure lead. In addition, special additives are used which allow particularly deep depths of discharge. The positive plates are highly corrosion-resistant and are also manufactured with the use of special additives.
