Düsseldorf, 5th October 2017 – GS YUASA will be present at stand 230 at this year’s Data Centre World (28th – 29th November) with a focus on the LIM25H and LIM50EN high-performance lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are being used for the first time in an intelligent energy storage system: the Sirio Power Supply from Riello Power Systems that is being introduced at the exhibition.
The Lithium-ion LIM50EN battery module consists of eight or twelve 3.7 V cells for a total rated voltage of 29.6 V or 44.4 V per module. They discharge with a peak current of 300 A or at a constant current of 200 A and average 11,000 cycles. In order to achieve higher voltages/capacities, the modules can be installed in series or in parallel, thus allowing large energy storage systems to be constructed.
The LIM50EN is being used in the new intelligent Sirio Power Supply energy storage system from Riello Power Systems. This system functions as both a UPS system and energy storage system. The LIM50EN lithium-ion batteries by GS YUASA are recharged using a photovoltaic system or via the mains, generators, wind power, co-generation units and other power generation systems. storage device also provides integrated UPS protection for all connected devices. A version of the energy storage system can be seen at the exhibition.
GS YUASA’s appearance at the exhibition also focuses on the LIM25H high-performance lithium-ion cell which can achieve 20,000 charge/discharge cycles in cyclic operation and extreme charge times of less than 15 minutes as well as autonomous operation lasting from a few seconds to several hours. The maximum charge/discharge current is 24 cA, i.e. 600 A. Eight or twelve cells are built into the batteries with a rated capacity of 25 Ah and rated voltages of 28.8 V or 43.2 V respectively.
The FXH series front terminal VRLA batteries with a rated voltage of 12 V are designed for UPS applications in telecommunications and data centres with capacities of 45-200 Ah. They can be easily linked to create large battery systems and enable individual batteries to be quickly replaced.
The SWL series delivers 6 V and 12 V high-performance batteries for use in UPS systems and applications with high discharge rates. The long life VRLA batteries (10-12 years) offer a discharge capacity up to 40% higher than standard batteries. The rated capacity of the batteries ranges from 25 Ah to 150 Ah.
